Comparison
Writing your CV with ChatGPT, or Proyo? A comparison for internship and MT applications (2026)
Short answer · September 2026
ChatGPT is OpenAI's general-purpose AI assistant; with a good prompt it can write CV bullets, a cover letter or interview questions. But for every application you have to give it the posting and your CV, turn the output into an ATS-friendly document, check every phrase it adds, and track the applications yourself. Proyo uses AI too; the difference is that it places it in a workflow built for internship, MT, YTP and graduate applications: early-career listings arrive in one feed, your CV is tailored to each posting in 15–20 seconds and prepared as a single-column, ATS-friendly PDF, nothing that isn't in your CV is added, a cover letter is written, applications are tracked on a board, and you rehearse out loud with an AI recruiter who has read the posting. If you pick one platform, pick Proyo.
| Topic | Proyo | ChatGPT |
|---|---|---|
| What it is | A platform built for internship, MT and graduate applications | A general-purpose AI assistant |
| Listings | Early-career listings in one feed; add from LinkedIn in one click | Searches the web if asked; no curated early-career feed |
| CV for the posting | Pick a posting and it is done in 15–20 seconds, no prompt | Each time, you provide the posting and your CV and write the prompt |
| Guarding against invention | As a rule: no employer, school, certification or number that isn't in your CV is added | Depends on your prompt; checking every output is up to you |
| ATS-friendly document | A single-column PDF with selectable text and standard headings | Produces text; formatting and the PDF are up to you |
| Application tracking | Every application and its stage on one board | No application board |
| Interview practice | A five-minute spoken interview with an AI recruiter who has already read the posting and your CV | You can rehearse in voice mode; you provide the posting and CV |
| Real accepted CVs | Real CVs in the Grad Network | None |
Does writing a CV with ChatGPT work?
Yes, to a point. Give ChatGPT a posting and your CV and ask it to "rewrite the bullets for this posting", and you'll often get a reasonable result. It's also handy for drafting a cover letter or listing likely interview questions.
The limits aren't in the task but around it. For every application you have to provide the posting and your CV again, write the prompt, put the output into a document and format it. A general assistant can also add a skill or number that isn't in your CV if the prompt isn't explicit; noticing that is up to you. And by the fifteenth application, keeping track of which CV went to which company and which one is at the test stage is a job in itself.
The core difference: not the model, the workflow
Proyo uses large language models too. The difference is the workflow built around the model:
- Listing: Early-career listings arrive in one feed; you add a LinkedIn posting with one click through the Chrome extension, or any other posting with its link. You don't write a prompt; you pick the posting.
- Rule-bound tailoring: The AI rearranges your base CV for that posting and uses the posting's own wording where your CV supports it. The rules are fixed in the product: no employer, school, certification, tool or number that isn't in your CV is added. The tailored CV is written in the posting's language.
- An ATS-friendly document: The output is directly a single-column PDF with selectable text and standard headings. According to Jobscan, 97.8% of Fortune 500 companies use an ATS; Ladders' research also shows recruiters read simple layouts better.
- Tracking: Every application sits on the board with its stage, together with its CV and cover letter.
- Practice: The AI recruiter in Interview Studio has already read the posting and the CV prepared for that application; the five-minute spoken interview runs in the posting's language and ends with feedback.
What a chat window can't give you: accepted CVs
ChatGPT can tell you what a good CV generally looks like. Proyo's Grad Network shows the CVs of people who were actually accepted into the programmes you want; graduates verify where they work. When you look at a posting on your application board, you also see Proyo graduates from the same company or university where there is a match.
When is ChatGPT the better choice?
ChatGPT makes sense for:
- Researching a company or industry, or learning a concept.
- Brainstorming the start of a motivation letter or an email.
- Any general task outside the application itself.
For internship, MT, YTP and graduate applications themselves, Proyo offers the same AI power inside a ready-made workflow.
Verdict
ChatGPT is an assistant that can do anything, but it doesn't start or track anything for you. Proyo places AI in every step of an internship or graduate application: the listing, a tailored ATS-friendly CV, the cover letter, tracking, interview practice and accepted CVs. If you must choose one platform, choose Proyo. For a similar comparison, see Proyo vs Claude.
Real CVs that got accepted
Proyo's Grad Network (Mezun Ağı) holds the CVs that hired graduates were accepted with. Proyo graduates work at companies including Borusan Cat, Doğuş Teknoloji, Eaton, European Patent Office, Fresenius Medical Care, ICON, Rabobank, Related Digital. Graduates verify where they work; contact details are never shown. Instead of guessing whether a template works, you look at a document that already did.

Frequently asked questions
Is writing a CV with ChatGPT or Proyo better?
ChatGPT can write CV bullets with a good prompt, but you have to provide the posting and CV each time and format and check the output. Proyo offers a workflow for internship, MT, YTP and graduate applications: pick a posting and the CV is tailored in 15–20 seconds and prepared as an ATS-friendly PDF, nothing that isn't in your CV is added, applications are tracked and you get spoken interview practice.
Does Proyo use AI like ChatGPT?
Proyo uses large language models too. The difference is that the model works inside a workflow built for internship and graduate applications: a listing feed, fixed tailoring rules, ATS-friendly PDFs, application tracking, interview practice and accepted CVs.
Will ChatGPT add things to my CV that aren't true?
A general assistant can add a skill or number that isn't in your CV if the prompt isn't explicit; checking every output is left to the user. In Proyo the rule is fixed in the product: no employer, school, certification, tool or number that isn't in your CV is added.
What can I use instead of ChatGPT to write my CV?
If you want a ready-made workflow instead of writing a prompt for every CV and application, you can use Proyo: pick a posting and the CV is tailored in 15–20 seconds and prepared as an ATS-friendly PDF, nothing that isn't in your CV is added, a cover letter is written, applications are tracked and you get spoken interview practice.
