What is İŞKUR?
İŞKUR (Türkiye İş Kurumu, the Turkish Employment Agency) is the public institution working to increase employment and reduce unemployment. Job listings, job and career counselling and various employment programmes run through it. For students, the best known is the İŞKUR Youth Programme (Gençlik Programı): run with public universities, it provides students with work experience and income support. There are also programmes such as the Labour Force Adaptation Programme (İşgücü Uyum Programı) that include young people. Applications go through İŞKUR's e-Şube, the Alo 170 line, provincial directorates and service centres.
Which one should you use for what?
İŞKUR and Proyo don't do the same job:
- Use İŞKUR for public support such as the İŞKUR Youth Programme and the Labour Force Adaptation Programme, and for public employment services. These programmes can't be applied to anywhere else.
- Use Proyo for private-sector internships, long-term internships, MT, YTP and graduate programmes.
