Internship, MT and YTP application calendar 2026–2027: when does each programme open in Turkey?

Türkçe oku

Short answer · October 2026

First, separate the two kinds of internship. A summer internship (yaz stajı) is where most students do the mandatory internship (zorunlu staj) their degree requires: while schools are closed, June–September, full-time, lasting 1–2 months (usually 20–30 working days). A long-term internship (uzun dönem staj) is separate: during term, a few days a week alongside classes, for several months. Summer internships happen in summer, but applications are collected in winter and spring, mostly January–April: in 2026 the National Internship Programme opened on 6 January and closed on 31 March, ASELSAN's a Yetenek Summer Internship ran 27 February–31 March, and Koç's Young Talent Programme took applications until 19 April. Long-term internship listings cluster near the start of each term; of the 97 listings seen in Proyo's feed in July–September 2026, 20 were long-term internship programmes, the largest group. MT, YTP and graduate programmes mostly open from autumn to spring for the following summer's graduates. So what's open in autumn isn't summer internships; it's MT, graduate and long-term internship programmes. Applications for mandatory internships in summer 2027 start in January 2027, and your CV needs to be ready by then. Instead of tracking programmes one by one, you can use Proyo (proyo.app): open listings are gathered in one feed, every listing you save sits on your board with its stage, and when it's time to apply your CV is tailored to that posting in 15–20 seconds.

Summer and long-term internships: when do they happen, how long do they last?

Before reading the calendar, separate the two kinds of internship; they happen at different times and take applications at different times.

When it happensDuring the summer break, while schools are closed: June–SeptemberDuring term, alongside classes

WhoStudents in degrees with a mandatory internship, mostly after the second and third yearMostly third- and fourth-year students
ApplicationsWinter and spring: mostly January–AprilBefore the term starts; in winter for 12-month programmes

Examples: HAVELSAN's 2026 summer internship periods ran 20 or 30 working days between 6 July and 18 September; Mercedes-Benz Türk's Summer Stars programme lasts 6 weeks, for third- and fourth-year students with a mandatory internship. By contrast, Mercedes-Benz Türk's PEP long-term internship lasts 12 months, and ASELSAN's a Yetenek programme two days a week for about eight months.

A mandatory internship (zorunlu staj) is one the department sets as a graduation requirement; its length and which workplaces count are set by the department's internship regulations, and in some degrees it is split into two separate periods. Mandatory internships also carry different legal pay rights: see the intern pay guide.

Month-by-month calendar

This table shows when applications are taken, not when the internship itself happens. The dates are from the 2026 cycle; most programmes open in a similar window each year, but dates can shift. Check the programme's own page for the exact date.

What did Proyo's listing feed show in July–September 2026?

Proyo gathers early-career listings from public sources into one feed. Between 24 July and 28 September 2026, 97 listing records came into the feed. Grouped by their titles:

TypeListingsExamples
Long-term internship programme20AbbVie Xperience, Migros Smart, Toyota "Gelecek Toyota'da", TAV FutureGEN, Akkim İyi Gelecek, Akçansa GençİZ'26

Two practical conclusions follow. First, summer and early autumn are long-term internship season: if you're moving into your third or fourth year, applications to work during the autumn term cluster in August–September. Second, MT listings were scarce in this period (3 of 97): the main wave of MT and graduate programmes comes after the autumn starts.

When do YTP and MT applications open?

Young Talent and Management Trainee programmes mostly open for students graduating the following summer, so the autumn and winter of your final year are the critical period. Verified examples from the 2026 cycle:

  • Turkcell GNÇYTNK 2026: listing closed 12 March 2026 (METU Career Planning Centre notice). The Full Time track is for final-year students and new graduates; the Part Time track for third-year students graduating in spring 2027.
  • Koç Young Talent Programme (Koç Genç Yetenek): second-year students and above; a career summit, an experience programme and internships at Koç companies; deadline 19 April 2026.
  • Garanti BBVA Talent Camp: according to the listing published in July 2026, third-year students graduating by July 2027 at the latest; a 3–6 month internship at the head office.
  • Coca-Cola İçecek Next Talent 2026: seen in Proyo's feed in August 2026.

We explain the difference between MT and YTP in the Management Trainee guide, and programmes by sector in the sector guide.

When should you apply and prepare for a 2027 summer (mandatory) internship?

If you'll do your mandatory internship in summer 2027, while schools are closed, applications start in January; going by the 2026 calendar, preparation needs to be finished by the end of December: the National Internship Programme opened in early January, and most defence and automotive programmes took applications in February–March.

  1. November–December: Prepare your CV. See the CV guide, and the ATS-friendly CV guide for a layout software can read.
  2. January: Apply to the National Internship Programme; we explain the two-stage application in the USP guide.
  3. February–April: Apply to company programmes. Tailor your CV to each posting; sending the same CV everywhere is the most common mistake.
  4. May: Results and offers. For interview invitations, see the interview guide.

Every listing you save in Proyo sits on your board with its stage — Saved, Applied, Testing, Interview and Offer — so you see where each application is in one place.

Interning abroad: Erasmus+ traineeships

Erasmus+ student traineeships run through calls from your university's international office. According to the rules published by Erciyes University:

  • A traineeship lasts 2 to 12 months per study cycle.
  • Final-year students can do a traineeship within 12 months after graduating, but they must apply before they graduate. Graduates cannot apply.
  • Bachelor's students need a minimum GPA of 2.20/4.00; selection weighs academic results and language level 50–50.

Call dates vary by university; follow your own university's Erasmus office. Internship applications abroad need an English CV; Proyo writes the CV in the posting's language.

How to use this calendar with Proyo

The calendar tells you what to look at in which month; the application itself is separate work for every posting. Proyo does that part in one place:

  • Listing feed: Internship, long-term internship, MT and graduate listings from public sources in one feed. Add a LinkedIn posting in one click with the Chrome extension, or a posting on a company career site with its link.
  • A separate CV for every posting: When you pick a posting, the AI rearranges your CV for it in 15–20 seconds and prepares an ATS-friendly PDF. It adds nothing that isn't in your CV.
  • Cover letter: A posting-specific cover letter in about 10 seconds.
  • Tracking: Every application on your board with its stage.
  • Interview practice: A five-minute spoken interview with an AI recruiter who has read the posting and your CV.

Applying to dozens of postings with the same care at the busiest time of the season is why Proyo was built.

Real CVs that got accepted

Proyo's Grad Network (Mezun Ağı) holds the CVs that hired graduates were accepted with. Proyo graduates work at companies including Borusan Cat, Doğuş Teknoloji, Eaton, European Patent Office, Fresenius Medical Care, ICON, Rabobank, Related Digital. Graduates verify where they work; contact details are never shown. Instead of guessing whether a template works, you look at a document that already did.

Proyo is growing

Proyo ran a collaboration with the Sabancı University Industrial Engineering Society (Sabancı IES), which students received well. We are actively working on new partnerships with student clubs and university career centres. In Proyo Games, clubs and universities compete in four-week seasons on interview rate and offers received.
